제6절 하나님이 인간 조상의 타락행위를 간섭치 않으신 이유
하나님은 전지전능(全知全能)하시므로 인간 조상의 타락행위(墮落行爲)를 모르셨을 리가 없는 것이다. 한편 그들이 타락행위를 감행할 수 없도록 그것을 막을 수 있는 능력이 없으신 것도 아니었다. 그러면 하나님은 왜 그들의 타락행위를 아시면서도 그것을 간섭하여 막지 않으셨던가? 이것은 아직까지의 인류역사를 통하여 풀리지 않은 중대한 문제 중의 하나인 것이다. 우리는 하나님이 인간의 타락행위를 간섭치 않으신 이유로서 다음의 세 가지를 들 수 있다.
God, being omniscient and omnipotent, must have known about the deviant acts of the first human ancestors which were leading to their Fall and was surely capable of preventing them from carrying them out. Why, then, did God not intervene to prevent the Fall? This is one of the most important unsolved mysteries of the ages. We can put forward the following three reasons why God did not interfere with the human Fall.
6.1 To Maintain the Absoluteness and Perfection of the Principle of Creation
창조원리(創造原理)에 의하면, 하나님은 인간이 하나님의 창조성(創造性)을 닮음으로써 하나님이 인간을 주관하시듯이 인간도 만물세계를 주관하도록 창조하셨다. 그런데 인간이 하나님의 창조성을 닮기 위하여는 인간 자신의 책임분담(責任分擔)을 수행하면서 성장하여 완성하지 않으면 아니 된다. 이러한 성장기간(成長期間)을 우리는 간접주관권(間接主管圈), 혹은 원리결과주관권(原理結果主管圈)이라고 한다. 그러므로 인간이 이 권내에 있을 때에는, 그들 자신의 책임분담을 다하도록 하시기 위하여 하나님은 그들을 직접적으로 주관해서는 안 되는 것이다. 그리하여 하나님은 인간이 완성된 후에야 그들을 직접 주관하시게 되어 있다.
In accordance with the Principle of Creation, God created human beings in His image, with the character and powers of the Creator, intending that they govern over all things as He governs over humankind. However, for human beings to inherit the creative nature of God, they must grow to perfection by fulfilling their portion of responsibility. As explained above, the period of their growth is the realm of God’s indirect dominion or the realm of dominion based on accomplishments through the Principle. While people are still in this realm, God does not directly govern them because He wishes to allow them to fulfill their own portion of responsibility.God will govern them directly only after they have reached full maturity.
만일 하나님이 그들을 직접 주관하실 수 없는 성장기간에 있어서 그들의 행위를 간섭하시게 되면 인간의 책임분담을 무시하는 것이 되며, 따라서 인간에게 창조성을 부여하시어 만물의 주관주로 세우시려는 창조원리를 스스로 무시하는 입장에 서시게 된다. 이와 같이 원리가 무시되면 동시에 원리의 절대성(絶對性)과 완전무결성(完全無缺性)은 상실되고 마는 것이다. 그런데 하나님은 절대자이시며 완전무결하신 창조주이시므로, 하나님이 세우신 창조원리도 또한 절대적이며 완전무결해야 하는 것이다. 그러므로 하나님은 창조원리의 절대성과 완전무결성을 위하여 미완성기(未完成期)에 있는 그들의 타락행위를 간섭하실 수 없었던 것이다.
If God were to interfere with human actions during their growing period, it would be tantamount to ignoring the human portion of responsibility. In that case, God would be disregarding His own Principle of Creation, according to which He intends to give human beings His creative nature and raise them to become the lords of creation. If the Principle were ignored, then its absoluteness and perfection would be undermined. Because God is the absolute and perfect Creator, His Principle of Creation must also be absolute and perfect. In summary, in order to preserve the absoluteness and perfection of the Principle of Creation, God did not intervene in the acts that led the human beings to fall.
6.2 That God Alone Be the Creator
하나님은 스스로 창조하신 원리적인 존재와 그 행동만을 간섭하시기 때문에, 범죄행위(犯罪行爲)나 지옥(地獄)과 같은 자기가 창조하시지 않은 비원리적인 존재나 행동은 간섭하실 수가 없다. 그렇기 때문에 하나님께서 만일 어떠한 존재나 행동을 간섭하시게 되면, 간섭을 받는 그 존재나 행동은 벌써 창조의 가치가 부여되어 원리적인 것으로서 인정된 것과 같은 결과에 이르게 되는 것이다.
God only governs over a principled existence which He has created and only sways the course of principled acts. God does not regulate any unprincipled existence which He did not create, such as hell; nor does He interfere with any unprincipled act, such as criminal acts. If God were to affect the course of such beings or acts, then they would necessarily be given the value of God’s creations and be recognized as principled.
이러한 논리에 입각해 볼 때, 만일 하나님이 인간 시조의 타락행위(墮落行爲)를 간섭하시게 되면 그 타락행위에도 창조의 가치가 부여되어서, 그 범죄행위는 원리적인 것으로서 인정되지 않을 수 없게 된다. 만일 그렇게 되면, 하나님이 범죄행위도 원리적인 것으로 인정하신다는 또 하나의 새로운 원리를 세우시는 결과를 가져오게 되는 것이다. 그런데 이러한 결과를 가져오게 되는 것은 어디까지나 사탄 때문이므로, 그렇게 되면 사탄이 또 하나의 새로운 원리를 창조한 것이 되어 그도 역시 창조주의 입장에 서게 된다. 따라서 하나님은 홀로 하나님만이 창조주로 계시기 위하여 그들의 타락행위를 간섭하실 수 없었던 것이다.
Consequently, if God were to have intervened in the Fall of the first human ancestors, He would have been attributing to those acts the value of His creations and recognizing them as principled. If God were to do this, He would in effect be creating a new principle that recognizes these criminal acts as lawful. Since it would actually be Satan who manipulated the situation to bring about this outcome, it would in fact be Satan who created another, new principle, and Satan would stand as the creator of all the fruits of the Fall. Therefore, in order that God remain the sole Creator, He did not intervene in the human Fall.
6.3 To Make Human Beings the Lords of Creation
하나님은 인간을 창조하시고 만물(萬物)을 주관하라고 하셨다(창 1 : 28). 인간이 하나님의 말씀대로 만물을 주관하려면 만물과 동등한 입장에서는 그를 주관할 수 없으므로, 인간은 그를 주관할 수 있는 어떠한 자격을 가져야만 한다.
God created human beings and blessed them with dominion over everything in the creation. (Gen. 1:2) Human beings cannot rule other creatures if they stand on an equal footing with them. They must earn certain qualifications to gain their God-given mandate to govern.
하나님이 창조주(創造主)이시기 때문에 인간을 주관하실 수 있는 자격을 가지고 계시는 것과 같이, 인간도 만물을 주관할 수 있는 자격을 가지기 위하여는 하나님의 창조성(創造性)을 갖지 않으면 아니 되는 것이다. 따라서 하나님은 인간에게 창조성을 부여하시어 만물을 주관할 수 있는 자격을 가지게 하시기 위하여, 성장기간(成長期間)을 두시고 이 기간이 다하기까지 인간이 그 자신의 책임분담(責任分擔)을 완수함으로써 완성되도록 창조하신 것이다. 그러므로 인간은 이러한 원리과정을 통과하여 완성됨으로써만 만물을 주관할 수 있는 자격을 얻어 가지고 비로소 만물을 주관할 수 있게 된다.
God is qualified to govern human beings because He is their Creator. Likewise, for human beings to gain the qualifications to rule all things, they must also possess the character and powers of the Creator. In order to give them creatorship and make them worthy to govern all things, God has human beings perfect themselves by accomplishing their own portion of responsibility until the end of their growing period. Only by perfecting themselves in accordance with the Principle can they earn the qualifications to rule the universe.
그런데 미완성기(未完成期)에 있는 인간을 하나님이 직접 주관하시고 간섭하시게 되면, 이것은 아직도 인간책임분담(人間責任分擔)을 완수하지 못하여 하나님의 창조성을 갖지 못함으로써 만물을 주관할 자격이 없는 인간으로 하여금 그것을 주관케 하시는 것이 될 뿐만 아니라, 미완성한 인간을 완성한 인간과 동일한 취급을 하신다는 모순을 초래하게 된다. 그리고 또 이 인간에게 그의 창조성을 부여하심으로써 만물을 주관케 하시기 위하여 세우셨던 창조원리(創造原理)를 스스로 무시하시는 결과가 되고 마는 것이다. 그러므로 원리에 의하여 피조세계(被造世界)를 창조하시고 그 원칙을 따라서 섭리하시는 하나님은, 인간을 만물의 주관위(主管位)에 세우시기 위하여 아직도 간접주관권 내(間接主管圈內)에 있었던 미완성한 인간의 타락행위를 간섭하실 수 없었던 것이다.
If God were to rule directly and control the lives of human beings who are still in the state of immaturity, this would in effect grant the authority of a ruler to those who are unqualified to rule. That is, it would have the effect of granting this authority to those who have not yet fulfilled their responsibility or earned God’s creatorship. It would contradict God’s Principle because He would be treating an immature person as if he were mature. God, the Author of the Principle, would be disregarding His own Principle of Creation, which He established in order to enable human beings to inherit the nature of the Creator and govern the creation. Consequently, it was in order to bless human beings as the lords of creation that God had to restrain Himself from intervening in the acts of immature human beings, as He watched with trepidation their tragic fall.
